# Check your copy.

Compare your original export with a separate download from Google Drive or Dropbox. This reads every file in both folders on your computer. Your files are never uploaded to us.

## Download a copy from your provider

Keep the original export where it is. Download the folder you uploaded to Drive or Dropbox into a separate location. If the provider wraps that folder in a new ZIP, extract that wrapper. Leave ZIP parts supplied by the social platform intact.

If you used [Save your export](https://deletemysocial.com/save-copy.html), choose the whole downloaded folder containing `manifest.json` and `originals`. This checker reads the original files and checks that record too.

This page cannot identify your provider, check its upload status, or confirm that the platform supplied all your history.

## Choose the two folders

The folder picker asks for read access only. Choose the folder containing every ZIP part and loose file in each location.

## What a match means

The original files had the same nested paths, empty folders, file sizes, and bytes when checked here. For a folder made by Save your export, its saved-folder record also matched those files. Open an important photo or video in your cloud account, and keep the original export until you are satisfied. A match here is not proof of provider sync, future recovery, or a complete platform export.
