# Save your export.

Keep every file and ZIP part the platform supplied in a folder you control. No files go to Delete My Social.

## If folder copying is unavailable in your browser

Upload the supplied files to your own Drive or Dropbox. Open important items there and download one again to check the copy.

Use your platform’s export controls, then download every file and ZIP part it supplies. An export may leave out older items.

### Before choosing a destination

For Drive or Dropbox, choose a dedicated folder inside its desktop sync location. Make sure it has room for the whole export. The browser asks to write there and creates a new folder without overwriting existing files. Do not choose your export folder or its parent.

Provider accounts, space limits, and charges apply. A local byte check cannot confirm cloud sync. Keep the original export until you open an important item in your cloud account and download it again.

### Already have a saved folder? Check it again

Choose the new copy folder this tool made, containing `manifest.json` and `originals`. This reads every saved file. Enter the original check code if you kept it; without the code, this checks the folder against its own record.

## When you are ready to clear posts

You choose which posts to remove in each social app and check the result there. This tool cannot tell whether the platform supplied all your history, whether your provider finished syncing, or whether a post was removed.
