# Snapchat: free post-clearing guide

You choose and remove posts in the platform, then check the result there. This guide cannot connect your account or verify removal. Saving a copy is optional.

### Snapchat

In Snapchat

1. Review older public Snaps still visible on your Public Profile, Spotlight, or Snap Map.
2. For a Story Snap still visible, tap your Bitmoji or Story icon, open that Story, swipe up on the Snap, then tap the trash can → Delete.
3. Use the Help links below for Spotlight and Snap Map.

Most Story Snaps expire, usually after 24 hours.

### Something to keep? Save a copy first

Snapchat’s My Data file may omit older items. Memories can need a separate export and download.

### Clearing your whole Public Profile is permanent

This removes the bio, profile photo, public Stories, and Stories saved to that profile. Your Snapchat account stays open. Spotlight and Snap Map Snaps remain; remove those separately. Check anything you want to keep first.
